  • Just like Samantha's befuddled Aunt Clara occasionally muffed a spell in Bewitched, so does Sabrina's Aunt Hilda in Sabrina: The Teenage Witch -- Potion Commotion. It seems as if Hilda, while trying to scare up a dancing partner, accidentally freezes herself and causes objects to fly throughout the house. Now Sabrina, her bewitched cat Salem, and cousin Marigold, must track down ingredients in order to fix a potion to counteract the commotion.

As Sabrina, players search through 16 levels for magic elements contained on the inventory checklist and learn six spells found during the journey from the Spellman's home to the high school, a pizzeria, and a huge magical family tree. With the exception of Lullaby, spells (Mini-Beans, Magic Drill, Lightborn, Indyair, and Portable Geyser) are effective only when cast on the correct object. Collectable items include hearts (regenerate health), magic balls (regenerate magic), the Quizmaster's items (needed to unlock a bonus mini-game), and magic book pages (learn new spells). Levels require Sabrina to find a variety of quest items such as roots, hairs, dust, drops, and magic keys.

Potion Commotion features six mini-games ("Memory Match," "Salem's Memory," "Energy Catcher," "Potion Swap," "Make a Potion," and the bonus game "Tuna Eater"), each with complete descriptions and full controls listed in the manual. Each game level contains one mini-game, and the bonus mini-game can be accessed only after completing all five levels in each location. The game utilizes a password save system, and players track Sabrina's health and magic with onscreen gauges.
